To update on what Steve Gerweck reported earlier today, SpikeTV's Twitter page has been updated with the following note:

"HULK HOGAN confirms "Mr. Monday Night" RVD has signed with TNA Wrestling!"

And if you want to see Hogan giving the game away....

"This is going to be crazy" (*R* *V* *D* *pose*)

I like it and I think RVD in the X-Division could be pretty awesome. no doubts he will be made a champion in it but it opens up the crazy possibilities of an AJ vs. RVD match!

Great, after he openly shunned them a month ago. Of course he'll be pushed to the top with no build-up. What an absolutely boring signing. He'll probably squash Desmond Wolfe or Samoa Joe in his debut, whoopee.

This will probably lead to TNA diluting X-Division matches to make RVD's spots not look unremarkable, though there's nothing they can do to make him look less sloppy. All this is going to do is expose him for what a crap, limited wrestler he really is, but of course the idiot Impact zone will lap this all up. They should have signed Jeff Hardy instead, since he at least has a grasp on ring psychology, can actually do more than one thing and is still a draw. Or they could have at least done something surprising and productive.

In all my years as a wrestling fan I have never in my life read such a fantastically ridiculous statement. Have you ever seen a Rob Van Dam match pre-WWE? Rob Van Dam has more talent in his ponytail than 80% of the WWE roster.

Seal, you're so full of shit that you stink out loud, dude. Jeff Hardy wouldn't know ring psychology if it smacked him across his rainbow-painted mug. Jeff Hardy draws influential preteen boys & girls while Van Dam draws real wrestling fans and TNA is not interested in catering to the "Sports Entertainment" crowd. Suggesting that Rob Van Dam only has one move makes it evident that you have never bothered to actually watch a Rob Van Dam match, or specifically one from his days in ECW. I don't know what is worse: making an idiotic statement like this for everyone to read on the internet, or the fact that you ACTUALLY believe your own bullshit.

Sorry dude but the last several weeks of Impact have shown that thats exactly the crowd TNA is now after. I'm a big TNA fan but they're moving further and further away from "what brought them to the dance". Thats not to say that singing RVD is a symptom of this because its not, he's a big name that will draw in the heavyweight division, but having watched all this crap with Bischoff/Jarrett, Bischoff/Foley, Hogan/Abyss and, to a lesser extent, AJ/Flair its fairly obvious that wrestling... and shamefully the X-division at that... is coming second best to badly thought out skits and "entertainment".

In the last few years of watching TNA I haven't fast-forwarded as much crap as I have in the last five or six weeks...

I love it when somebody who talks about '' real wrestling '' fans and deliberately misinterprets parts of my past (where did I say RVD uses one move? Where?) tells me I'm the one spewing nonsense. You're not being very persuasive telling me to go watch some of his work from another era, especially when I've already followed a fair bit of it, it's like you're flat-out admitting his WWE work was gymnastic botch-laden pap.

Jeff is ridiculously popular right now, people still go to WWE shows holding up signs for him and wear his merchandise. RVD's popularity isn't quite as strong especially after 3 years of nothing.

Whilst it's one of the most moot and subjective aspects of pro wrestling, I think you should watch, or rewatch, Jeff/Punk TLC if you think he has no grasp on ring psychology.

And hy are we bashing '' sports entertainment '' now? That's the perfect encapsulation of what you're watching. Sports Entertainment.

Back on track, within about week or two TNA seems to be suddenly collpasing at the seems, and really need to get their act together. Signing new people is fine and all but when you're doing it with zero preparation or build-up and constantly it begins to disinterest people. I think they also need to set their priorities straight, but that's probably asking a bit much of Hulk Hogan and his cronies.

I agree with Terra. It would be a mistake to drop RVD in the X-Division. Just because he's able to perform "high-flying" moves, shouldn't relegate him to a division he's above. Don't get me wrong, I love the excitement of the X-Division (when it's showcased). However, there are plenty of wrestlers on TNA's roster that need a push, and giving it to RVD, someone who clearly doesn't need a title to get over, would diminish their work.

I could see RVD in the world title hunt. Whether he wins or not is up to the bookers. Irregardless of the outcome, I'm sure we would see some exciting matches against AJ Styles.

I'm very excited to hear this news. Ever since ECW I've always seen something very special about RVD, and RVD has always stood out to me as a performer. I've always been excited to watch RVD because of the great matches he could put on.

RVD coming to TNA is something im VERY excited for. There is Hardy he's good high flyer. Sucks at everything else. He hasn't done a damn thing since his debut so screw him. RVD could help the X-Division become awesome again. Alternatly he could go for the title which i would like but i prefer him in the x-division. Things are picking up for TNA.
