ProWrestling.net is reporting that TNA ran a controversial angle at last night's Impact taping when prior to his match, Orlando Jordan kissed a man before entering the ring. Apparently, Jordan came to the ring escorted by both a man and a woman, and prior to entering the ring he kissed both of them.

According to the report, several people backstage in TNA were not happy with the angle and felt that TNA was going too far. Sources think that something like that might turn off SpikeTV viewers as the network is geared towards programming for men.

It should be noted that prior to Jordan's release from WWE back in 2006, there was talk of having Jordan participate in some type of bisexual angle that would have involved former TNA Knockout Trinity. The idea was initially offered by Jordan himself as he lives a bisexual lifestyle outside of professional wrestling.
I guess the question is do you think TNA is going to far in trying to push boundaries, with this upcoming storyline. I'm for it to be honest but I doubt it will last very long.

Don't really see much controversial about it. Could be interesting I guess if he develops a persecution complex and thinks everyone opposes his lifestyle, but they're probably just doing it do be edgy, unfortunately.

Uhm, will it get Jordan to be a credible main eventer? No. Just a way to give him air time. Unique, odd, but still, just a way to give him air time.

I support his move. I'm not a big fan of having to watch the idea but I think in this day of age, this should NOT be considered inappropriate. It will make media attention though and get TNA's name out there I just think that there are a lot of people however who will watch this and attempt to drag TNA's name through the dirt because of it.

Why?
I'm a guy who likes chicks. Watching Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne make out with each other = :D . Watching Orlando Jordan make out with some dude = :( .

Simple as. I have no problem with the idea just I wouldnt really want to watch two guys make out.

Don't really see much controversial about it.
By that comment I'd wager your either gay or bisexual.

It'd be pretty rare that prime-time American wrestling TV would have an actually gay wrestler kiss a guy on the mouth. It's been done in psuedo-homosexual context for comedic effect (Goldust, Billy & Chuck) but never as seriously. I can't think of any...even Pat Patterson would've kissed someone but in a jocular manner.

Anyway I don't have a problem with OJ being gay, but as a straight guy, I don't want to see men kiss. It's not a big deal. Mountain out of a molehill.

That said, I think TNA are doing this primarily to make them seem progressive and to make a ton of positive media exposure. It's genius, really.

I'd imagine in some of the 'rougher' states (Alabama etc) that this could cause a riot....I imagine not all people are as open-minded about bi/homosexuality.

I don't see how this would benefit. It would certainly drive wrestling fans away. Remember the bulk of the wrestling fan community will always be, always, males 18-34. What male in that age want to see men kiss? What straight male, I should ask. Also since SpikeTV is a male dominated channel, specifically for the machismo, not homosexuality, this idea would contradict the basis of Spike's programming.

No they didn't. They immediately cut to Samoa Joe entering the ring. If HNA wants to move to Mondays, which is men's night, because you had football, you have wrestling , they shouldn't risk an on screen bisexual persona for OJ.
