Best Picture: District 9 and Avatar, of course, but they should be nominated for "Overhyped Computer Wanking Movie." Avatar is going to win, no doubt, it toppled Titanic, directed by the same guy who directed Titanic. James Cameron, the director, he's on top of the world. However, I'd much rather have Inglorious Basterds take it. Best Director: Tarantino please! Obviously Cameron will win. Best Actor: Morgan Freeman please. Best Actress: Meryl Streep, my chemistry teacher would like that. Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz. I liked the character. I mean I never read about a Nazi who betrayed the National Socialist Party in any capacity, so to me, the character was unique. Best Supporting Actress: No preference Best Original Screenplay: Tarantino Best Adapted Screenplay: District 9. It looked like Independence Day to me Best Animated Feature: No preference. Tarantino should take all the awards he and his movie is nominated for. Just the fact he and the movie are nominated in many different categories show the strength of Inglorious Basterds, which deserves it. High replay value for me. |

I haven't actually seen most of the movies that are in the nominations so my picks are a mix of personal opinion/standard Oscars protocol. Best Picture - Avatar Best Director - James Cameron Best Actor - Morgan Freeman Best Actress - Meryl Streep Best Supporting Actor - Matt Damon Best Supporting Actress - Maggie Gyllenhaal Best Original Screenplay - Inglourious Basterds Best Adapted Screenplay - District 9 Best Animated Feature - Coraline ---------- For the most part, Oscar nominees never come from movies I'm interested in or are for actors/actresses I personally like so I probably won't even watch the awards. |
![]() What can I say...I got bored ---------- Marked for Excellence 1. Velvet Sky's ass 2. Daffney's delightful insanity 3. WWE's Incompetence (stupidity this epic must be applauded) 4. The Futterwacken ---------- [marq=right]Member, GFXer and 2 Posts of the month - 08/09[/marq] | |

Not that I follow recent cinema much, but I hope Matt Damon and Meryl Streep take their respective categories, and I hope Avatar doesn't win best picture even though I know it will. Edited by Seal, Feb 18 2010, 01:17 AM.
