TNA world heavyweight champion AJ Styles has blasted the backstabbing nature of rival firm WWE.

In an exclusive WrestleCast, alongside fellow TNA bad guy Desmond Wolfe, AJ gave us his reasons for staying with the company for the last seven years.

Styles said: "All the horror stories I've heard about WWE, there is no reason why I'd want to go.

"I'm going to tell you what I know as the main difference between the two companies.

"Desmond and I are going to work together to make this company the best, for everybody.

"Whereas in the other company they will stab each other in the back to get themselves to the next level.

"It's not about me. It's about us in TNA."

Wolfe - who almost signed for WWE before the deal fell through - added: "I'm really happy to be here, I really am. It's a real family environment.

"I haven't been around backstage a lot in WWE, but at TNA it seems like everybody is on board.

"Some people might have different opinions of certain things, but ultimately everybody wants to be positive, go in the right direction and for the company to succeed, not just themselves."

Styles also reassured fans upset about TNA losing their trademark six-sided ring.

He said: "For us, it does not make a difference in any way.

"You can put me in a six-sided ring or put me in a square ring, it's all the same. You throw somebody into the ropes and they come back.

"It's not any different, so that's why it was so bizarre to me at first why they would change it.

"But then I heard that maybe the reason for that change was so we could be taken more seriously as a company and I can understand that.

"I don't care what it is that gets us to the next level, as long we get there."

The pair also discuss Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff joining TNA - as well as what fans can expect on the company's current tour of the UK.

All I can say with Hogan and Bischoff in charge is be careful what you say. It's obvious he is their golden child but as much as I like having them in TNA, I wouldn't trust them with a stick.

Huh, what's so surprising about this? Every company known to man has backstabbing, underhanded moves. Styles is implying HNA doesn't have its own?

At first I thought it was a typo since H is right next to T but I get the idea you're going with Thrash, shouldn't it be TNH though? Total Nonstop Hogan? Since that's what we get in lue of extended matches. Just more segments with Hogan or Bischoff being shoved down our throats.

They're going to kill TNA, it's really that simple. What made TNA a breakout company was all the differences, all the fresh excitement. Six-sided ring, X-Division, Fast-paced intense wrestling. What stagnated them and left them lying in a pool of their own feces the way it is now (actually they WERE laying in it, now they're sinking further into it like quicksand) was trying to conform to the standards set by the rival company. The more WWE-like TNA has become the less momentum it's gotten. You take '03, '04, '05 and TNA is getting so much fucking exposure by word of mouth alone. But now, who the fuck would be cruel and evil enough to actually suggest to a friend: "You should watch TNA sometime".

These days the only news escaping my lips is telling people to YouTube a select few of the matches because everything outside of that part of the product is shit.

Wait in line with that, that's not the first time people point out "TNH." HNA rhymes, is has a vowel. I can't get the feel of saying TNH. Eh, your opinion, I created HNA, Im not discarding what I made.

Anyways, I wonder what Styles will say when HNA falls over. Will he praise WWE, defend HNA, or blast HNA. Either way, it'd be funny.

I just said TNH because in addition to the continuity, you just add "ch" to the 'a' sound to make 'h'. Just thought it rolled off the tongue easier.

Not that it really matters via the internet since it's all reading, lol

Gentlemen, I will be the first to admit that I am not the most loyal TNA follower and, more honestly, have not followed the product for the last 6 months. What I saw last Wednesday gave me a very sick feeling in my stomach as I tuned in to watch TNA for the first time since last Fall 2009.

- I watched Hogan and Hebner discussing an incident that took place that was apparently TNA's version of the "Montreal Screwjob" and Hebner even name-dropping Bret.

- I watched Hogan try to act. [scary]

- I watched Bischoff and Lashley in a terrible backstage segment that had Bischoff still playing the same power-hungry dickhead that he did in ECW and WWE and Lashley barely acting at all.

- I watched The Nasty Boys cut a promo that sounded like they yanked it straight out of the 80's. 20 years later and they still can't come up with new material?

I truly felt like I was watching WCW from the late 90's. I was absolutely disgusted with the way that Tenay and Tazz and were forced to continually call Hogan things like "the greatest" and "genius" every 5 minutes and that the show has become, much like Mark said, Total Nonstop Hogan.

If it wasn't for the fact that I knew iMPACT was taped so had it happened, TNA would've cut the footage, I would've thought Knobbs was going to have a heart attack in that ring. That old tub of lard doesn't even get that sweaty and red in the face working a match.

What was WCW about it? o_O Other than the ramp and a handful of performers I don't see the similarities.

Also, why did you bring up Hogan acting like it was unusual? All wrestlers do is act.

You deprived yourself of some good TV as well as some car crash material by forgoing it for six months. I don't understand that mindset actually. Surely it's not so bad that you can't switch on even momentarily to see what's happening. But, at least you're admitting it. There are lots who watch TNA just as much yet rate the shows anyway. o_O

AJ Styles discussing backstage politics in WWE is simply him towing the corporate line. He has no real direct knowledge of how and why things work backstage in WWE. Any knowledge he has comes second-hand from mostly disgruntled former employees of the WWE. And honestly, why would he say anything positive about WWE? His job is to promote TNA.

I don't take anything AJ Styles says too seriously anyway. He's horrible on the mic and "phenomenal" in the ring. Less talk, more wrestling, please.
