WWE Raw Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin was pulled over by a police officer while driving on Saturday night and wrote about the situation on Twitter as it unfolded.

“Just got pulled over. This always happens to me. Let’s see if I can get just a warning. Prob not though never that lucky,” said Miz regarding the encounter, presumably related to a minor traffic offense (such as speeding).

He later added, “And the verdict is in….not guilty. Well actually I was guilty but was let go with a warning. See there r nice cops out there.”

While getting pulled over for a minor traffic is not a huge deal (especially when he didn’t even receive a ticket), Miz’s Twitter postings seem to represent the kind of publicity WWE wanted to avoid when they supposedly told their superstars to limit their Twitter use and not post anything controversial.

The latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE has "given up" on pushing Jack Swagger to superstardom as he has not quite panned out as officials had initially hoped.

When he first showed up on the WWE scene a little over a year ago, "The All-American American" was pegged as the future of the company due to his tremendous size. Nowadays, he's considered a comedy figure ranked slightly lower than Chavo Guerrero on the RAW pecking order. Furthermore, some feel he's in danger of becoming "this year's Chris Masters."

Jack Swagger had lots of potential to become a great star. In my opinion, he is better than Sheamus or Drew McIntrye or Essssscobarrrr!!!!!!

Well the Swagger thing was already posted in the Swagger and Ziggler thread. but i agree with you.

and as for miz i guess i can see where WWE is coming from but i don't think its that big of a deal and i hope miz doesn't get depushed for this....unless it means swagger, bourne or carlito gets a push from it.

The only thing Chavo has over Swagger is Chavo has his own piece of merchandise, a shirt, that's pretty outdated. Swagger has nothing but his sexy self and great skills. Deserves better.

I wouldn't put too much faith in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claiming Swagger is losing his push or that he's lower in the pecking order than Chavo. Personally, I'd like to see what evidence The Observer is basing this claim on.

"Wow, I haven't seen Swagger on TV much lately. WWE must have cooled on him."

Yeah, I could make the same assumption and it's STILL not news.

The fact is, there are only so many spots at/near the top in WWE and not everyone can get their chance at the same time. Right now, it's just not Swagger's turn. I blame WWE for Swagger's lack of push, quite frankly. He could have made a HUGE impact on ECW, but the bookers moved him to RAW too soon. He's got a ton of potential, even though I can openly admit, he's not one of my favorites. Had he been given another year in ECW (until the annual draft), he would have had plenty of time to develop and refine his character.

Being drafted to RAW and immediately thrown in high-profile matches is the equivelent of blessing off on his horribly underdeveloped persona, claiming he's ready for the big time. Well, he's not. Instead, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, and even Legacy are getting the bigger pushes right now. Why? Because they're better developed characters than Swagger. Sure, Swagger's a great athlete, but what else does he offer?

The latest issue of WWE magazine touts Swagger as one of "Tomorrow's Champions", so it would seem counter-productive to waste time on Swagger if WWE doesn't see potential in him for a future run with a championship. Again, he just doesn't fit in the puzzle being put together by WWE's creative process right now. When The Miz's current program has run it's course, perhaps Swagger will step in and get a run of his own?

Have faith and give it time. It's not as if Swagger has been pulled from TV entirely, after all. He's simply been downgraded until creative gives him something to do. Hopefully, this downtime from the spotlight will give Swagger the determination he needs to redefine his character and tweek his gimmick enough that when he is given the ball again, he shines, rather than bore the crowd.

I couldn't agree with Bad Medicine assessment more. Swagger has been put on the back-burner, but not forgotten. Swagger was moved from ECW too soon and his character offered little other than his size and goofy smile. Allowing a character time to build his persona through multiple victories instead of a violent thrust into the main event scene is the best route for a performer who plans on being around long term. Establishing a wrestler as a serious contender and a deserving champion makes the wrestler more appealing to the fans and Swagger must bide his time until he's ready for the big show.
