Officials at the Fort Hood Army Base in Killeen say seven people are dead and at least 20 are wounded in a mass shooting on the Fort property. The attack apparently started at the Soldier Readiness Center at the post in Killeen, Texas. A graduation ceremony for people coming out of basic training. was taking place at the base when the shooting happened. The Army has officially confirmed that there are 2 shooters, and there could be a possible 3rd. Army personnel say they are not certain whether the shooting victims are civilians or military personnel. There is speculation that this is a terrorist attack, but nothing can be confirmed at this time. The men were reportedly dressed in Army fatigues, but military officials couldn't confirm that they were Army personnel. They men were also confirmed to have been using M16's and 9MM sub machine guns. Fort Hood in Texas is the largest Military Installation in the world. The base and all schools within a 20 mile radius are on lockdown. FBI are currently in route to assist the Army in helping catch the remaining shooter(s). The Army is currently conducting a head count of all personal stationed at Fort Hood. This is a very emotional time. Most of these men that were fired upon had just returned from the middle east. For many people this wouldn't hit them as hard as it does others. But I for one can say that this is something horrible to happen to our men and women serving our country and the people responsible should be executed. A possible 3rd gunmen is still on the lose, more information will be provided as it becomes available. The men are United States Soldiers and are believed to have been acting on there own, but there is speculation that they are connected to a terrorist cell. The gunmen are believed to be a part of a sleeper cell. At the start of the recent war in the Middle East, AlQueda stated that they would infiltrate the United States Military. And the FBI believes that this may be the case. 10 of the people killed are Army personal and 2 are civilians. One of the civilians killed was a Fort Hood Police officer that responded to the scene. At this point due to there still being a possible 3rd gunmen the base will stay on lockdown, until the Army can provide an all clear. 3 other Soldiers have been taken into custody with possible connections to the shootings. Major Malik Nadal Hasan.. They Army has also released a unreleased video of AlQueda saying that they would infiltrate the United States Military.. They reportedly received the video at the start of the war. It is also been released that the gunmen killed is also Middle Eastern. The remaining Gunman on the loose is reported to be Middle Eastern as well. The Army is investigating the situation. Over the last several months Military and Local Police have broken up sleeper cells all over Texas.. There is a small amount of fear within the Military that the Taliban and AlQueda may be bringing the war to American Soil. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
