Hello loyal viewers and welcome to the second episode of Prodigy on Wrestling! Now, some of you may be wondering, is it just going to be normal discussion like last time, or will we see something new. WE ALWAYS COME UP WITH SOMETHING. This week, we will have our first LIVE AIM Discussion posted here for you all to see, and learn from, and upcoming members here, please PM me or AIM me for your golden opportunity to talk wrestling, and have your opinion Spotlighted here on POW! So, onto the show. As I've been perusing the WWE Forums to look for some good things to discuss, Prodigy's eye caught something quite interesting. The WWE is actually trying to help their stars live better outside of the WWE. I personally always thought they taught their stars good money management, and stuff like that but I guess they were wrong. Maybe after so many failures like Jake the Snake, King Kong Bundy, and Ric Flair, you'd figure they would have started this long ago, but it's finally catching up to them. Lets take the young talent in WWE for example. When young kids walk right into a business where they are making a lot of money, and their life is definitely in the fast lane, they lose track of what they spend. Let's say you make 500,000 a year with WWE. Now, you have to get airplane tickets every week, and buy your hotel rooms, plus all the guys want to live life large, so big houses, and nice cars. Most of the stars that failed in the past spent so much without thinking, they ran themselves into debt, and turned out like Mike Tyson. I guess it's good the WWE started this. Now, let's move onto another problem in Rey Mysterio. What did Rey do wrong? Well, we don't know exactly, but we know it has to do with drugs. From my point of view, Rey's 5ft tall, 160 lbs, and yet he's probably on steroids. I really didn't think he of all WWE stars would be doing something like that. Sadly, even with whatever he's on, his ring work is still sub-par at it's finest. I personally haven't liked Rey Mysterio since 2003, when he started to suck. With the recent drug bust, I'm really disappointed in him. I still had some respect for him for what he used to be able to do, but now, I've lost all respect for this man. Not only that, his marketability has dropped considerably since his early years in the WWE, and with this, I'm sure it will drop even further. Good thing the kids still like him, and Vince seems to only care about kids nowadays. I've been saying this for awhile now. Vince. Take a flight down to Mexico, make sure you don't drink the water, and go to some random wrestling promotion there, and pick a random Mexican there, and tell him you work for me, do all the stuff Rey Mysterio does, and I'll pay you 250,000 a year (like a 7th what Mysterio makes). The person will accept in a heartbeat because that's more money in one year than he'd make in a lifetime in Mexico, so he'll accept and be a new Mysterio, just twice as good. Don't worry about the language barrier, for the money, he'll pick it up. Then repeat process when this one loses his talent. I personally think that's the best idea you can do. Break Time with the Finisher of the Week! Welcome to this weeks addition of POW's Finisher of the Week (FOTW) What's this weeks FOTW Prodigy? Well, it's none other then Naruki Doi's Muscular Bomb. Why was this move picked? Well, because it's almost impossible to not inflict real damage to your opponent, by carefully timing their painful impact on the back of their head. It is one of the most dangerous finishers in the business, more so than the Canadian Destroyer. CHECK IT OUT!!! Overall rating: 9/10. So, back in TNA land, Kurt Angle has been getting himself into more trouble lately. Well, as we all know, Kurt's contract with TNA expires this September, so maybe TNA won't rehire or Kurt won't re-sign. From what I've heard, things between Jarrett and Angle have been getting heated lately, and Jarrett misunderstood Angle's words that were I'm going to beat you up, to I'm going to kill you. For some reason unbeknown to myself, Angle became upset by this, and threw the TNA belt to the ground and it accidentally broke. Now, if I were Dixie Carter, this would anger me, because those belts aren't cheap, and it seems as though Angle has been costing the company a lot of money lately. I'm sure his recent bail wasn't cheap, nor the new belt. I'm still unsure if Angle wants to re-sign with TNA, but for the fans sake, and my sake, I hope he does. I'm an Angle fan, and I hope he doesn't screw up his chances with TNA. I'm sure TNA will still take him though, because he's important for their ratings and making new stars better. What will happen? Only time will tell. Now, onto more news. Dixie Carter and Bobby Lashley. Alright, let me start off by saying that Dixie Carter SHOULD NEVER APPEAR ON TNA EVER!!!!!!! Now I'm sure she's a nice person, but that doesn't mean shit. She did something that is never, EVER supposed to happen in the business, and that's let out a HUGE spoiler like that. On iMPACT last week, she was talking about Lashley and how he will hopefully become the UFC Champion, and then went on to say, how she wants him to be champion here, and she's going to do everything in her power to make that happen. HMMM, SPOILER? And about something that big, really? I have just one thing to say. THANKS FOR THE SPOILER BITCH, what the hell is wrong with you? That's the one thing you never do is give out information about what's going to happen. The retarded fans who think it's real may not want to know it's fake. Then you lose money. And besides, who wants to see Lashley champion again anyway? Ever since moving to TNA, he's been nothing but worse than Foley. Hopefully we won't have to hear or see from Dixie again, and especially for TNA's sake. It is time for the AOL Instant Messaging LIVE Discussion featuring none other than AlecPure! goku3jiraiya (11:58:14 PM): Hello viewers of POW! and welcome to our first ever LIVE AIM discussion! Please welcome your guest speaker tonight, AlecPure! goku3jiraiya (11:58:47 PM): So Alec, what are your thoughts on Ring of Honor recently deciding to move over to a time slot right before Monday Night Raw? xxalecpurexx (12:00:51 AM): well it could be a good or bad decision for the company. Like it has been stated, they are now a target for the WWE and there talent will probably be raided. It could end up being a good thing as there usually isn't much on tv to watch on mondays right now, until football season starts.. xxalecpurexx (12:01:44 AM): so people might tune in because they will get an extra hour of wrestling on monday night.. but we will have to wait and see how it works out.. and hopefully it does for the best goku3jiraiya (12:03:13 AM): I know as a wrestling fan, that on Monday Nights, I'm hopefully in for a good show of Raw, but I usually don't feel like it was enough. ROH may provide that extra hour, and for other fans, they may like it. Now with ROH getting raided one of their top talents in Brian Danielson, just went to WWE, which is a huge hit to the ROH community, but with that said, ROH may be able to live off of Raw. goku3jiraiya (12:03:55 AM): Now, another thing I have not been liking on ROH lately is the production. Their logo's, and backgrounds, and side screens, all have piss poor logo's, and production. Thoughts? xxalecpurexx (12:06:01 AM): well they are currently going through a financial problem right now, due to the economy. But its just a phase and when ROH was first around there production was alot worse than it is now.. But yea it may not be as good as it was the last few years, but it will get better. For every one step they take backwards they eventually take 3 steps forward, goku3jiraiya (12:07:48 AM): I know what your talking about, and their match quality is definitely picking up the loose ends. Now, let's get into what's coming up this Friday, we have DragonGateUSA's first PPV in the United States. Aside from the normal matches I heard you knew of someone else who was going to be there. Care to share with the rest of us? xxalecpurexx (12:11:35 AM): First of all let me say that i have heard nothing but greatness about DragonGate. There show here will be the first live show of there's i will be watching.. But to share on that special someone that is going to be there, i was watching a DG: Enter the Dragon promotional video and they stated that none other than Ultimo Dragon will be there. They did not say what compacity he will be there in, but he would be on the show goku3jiraiya (12:13:40 AM): We all look forward to the Legendary Ultimo Dragon being there, and possibly performing. Against who, we have yet to know. As I recall from our friendly chat before the interview, you had mentioned the possible alliance, well more like a good idea to team up, between Ring of Honor and DragonGate. Care to expand? xxalecpurexx (12:18:49 AM): Honestly with ROH in the financial situation they are in now, if they were to team up with DG it would only do wonders. For one they would gain some of DG's dvd quality on top of there own, which could only be for the better. Also i think if they were to do a joint venture they would be able to put on great cards with a mixture of styles from all over the world. Which if people saw they would be able to draw in new fans. And the match ups they could put on would be some of the best matches ever put on in america. xxalecpurexx (12:20:07 AM): An ROH and Dragon Gate joint venture could honestly be that next big spark in pro wrestling and if done properly with in a few years time they would be able to become the big 3rd promotion in the US and maybe even bigger internationally. goku3jiraiya (12:22:49 AM): I would like to see this Union, because it would allow for matches like Austin Aries to go toe to toe against CIMA or Shingo, maybe even Doi. The possibilities are endless with a joint venture of that calibur. DragonGate currently has great production, and sleek quality with astounding matches to boot, while Ring of Honor is the somewhat popular American company with great potential. If done correctly, and matches well planned, and executed better, I truly believe they could give WWE a good run for their money, if not beat them in the long run with DragonGates success in Japan already. goku3jiraiya (12:24:52 AM): Alright, time to move on to reality for a little while. Alec, what are your thoughts on the recent departure by Jeff Hardy? xxalecpurexx (12:29:45 AM): Well i have been a fan of Jeff Hardy since the early days of the Hardys, and i was pretty excited when he returned a few years back and took out Edge on Raw, and being a Hardy fan i knew it would only be a matter of time before he got the big one. But the WWE took there sweet time to give it to him, which yes was a good thing, but the longer they waited the more and more people stopped caring.. And after he didn't win the WWE title in the Scramble, is when i lost all interest in Hardy. Over the last few months, since Mania to be exact, Jeff hasn't looked as into what he is doing anymore, and when that happens nothing good comes from that. It would only be a matter of time before he started getting lazy in the ring and botched something and hurt himself or his opponent. xxalecpurexx (12:31:26 AM): Hardy's departure is a good thing and a bad thing, WWE merch sales will go down as will ratings. But this gives them a chance to build up new stars and push them to where Hardy is. Jeff may be gone, but he will come back one day, because no matter what anyone in the wrestling business does or says they always come back goku3jiraiya (12:35:35 AM): Exactly. No wrestler wants to leave the roar of the crowd as a friend of mine says it. When tens of thousands of fans are chanting your name, it's hard to just leave. I haven't been a fan of Jeff Hardy since before he left for TNA. Nowadays, every time I see him, he looks like he's on drugs. Not only that, as you mentioned, his work in the ring has dropped considerably, which is the worst thing for him. If he wanted to get the spotlight sooner, then he should have given 100% all the time, which would make the WWE think he really cares. Aside from that, we have to hear him speak on the mic now. That's something my ears just can't handle. I lately have purposely been letting the wax grow so I don't have to hear him. But of course, Jeff Hardy, has always, and will always be popular, so merchandise sales will drop, and ratings will plummet, but it won't be anything too serious for the WWE not to recover from. xxalecpurexx (12:41:00 AM): Honestly i think this will be a big drop from the WWE. The SD ratings will drop, they have no top face other than Undertaker to go against CM Punk. And after this coming SD taping they will be losing there second biggest face Rey Mysterio due to his wellness violation(but thats a discussion for another time). WWE will need to push a new star fast up to the spot of top face, because Taker will not be able to stay there very long, his body just can't take it anymore. And if you look at Jeff's early mic work it seems it has dropped considerable since his return. When he first returned to the WWE it was decent and it could of done well that way, but now like you said i would rather watch a 60 minute iron man match between the Brooklyn Brawler and Hornswoggle . Hopefully the WWE can find someone to replace Hardy, otherwise there ratings are going to drop drastically for SD. goku3jiraiya (12:43:43 AM): From what I've heard that person may be Matt Hardy. But that's still something we are not sure of. Let's move on to the final topic of this LIVE Discussion of POW!. Recently, as we all know, Kurt Angle has been getting himself into a lot of trouble, first, with false alligations of stalking and possession of HGH (Human Growth Hormones), to his most recent outburst in the TNA lockeroom. What are your thoughts on this? xxalecpurexx (12:50:04 AM): I honestly don't know enough about the situation with Kurt Angle so i won't comment on something without knowing all the fact.. But the thing about it i can say is that is all of this is true, then Kurt needs to watch his temper, its only a matter of time before he does something that will sink his ship and get him in a lot of trouble. On to his possession with HGH, i think Kurt if he has a right to have it he should and even if he doesn't have a scrip for it, if he feels he needs it he should be able to use it, as long as he doesn't abuse it.. After all Kurt is one of those guys that goes out there and gives 110% in the ring no matter what and if HGH helps him do that he should be allowed to continue to take it, as long as it does not cause him or other any physical harm goku3jiraiya (12:56:24 AM): That's the thing about HGH. It's something that taking is illegal, but as you age, the body's production of HGH's slows down drastically, and in most cases (Probably Kurt's), it's discontinued completely. I believe, since his job requires him to be in tip top shape, that he should be allowed to take it. If not Kurt may slowly start to wither away with slower muscle tissue regrowth, etc. Now with Angle and Rhaka, I think we all knew that was bullshit, but thankfully Rhaka admitted to her false accusations, and Kurt wasn't in trouble. Getting even more recent, Kurt in anger, decided to slam the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on the ground, accidentially causing it to break (That must have been a hard slam, or a weak belt). I think this is one time that Angle did go overboard. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes with Kurt and Jeff, but it's TNA property that Kurt is completely defacing, and those title belts cost over 1,000 to make. Keep your anger in check Angle. And that will do it for tonight LIVE Discussion, I would like to give a special thanks to AlecPure for doing the show tonight, and for some real entertainment, check out Alec and Hen's TNA Fantasy in the Be The Booker Section, and see what wrestling should be! Alright, now on to the final part of the show. Are you ready for this weeks match of the week? This weeks MOTW is *Drum roll, and random idiot crashing through drums please* Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Toshiaki Kawada - June 3rd 1994 *Sadly it isn't the best quality in the world, but it's good enough. From start to finish, this match is truly amazing and deserved the 5 star rating that it received. The intensity of the match picks up to an unbelievable level in part 3. I hope you guys enjoy this match. For next week's episode of POW!, please PM me topic you would like to see on here, and to be in a Live AIM discussion AIM me at goku3jiraiya, or send me a PM, and we'll set something up. A special thanks POW! would like to hand out to AlecPure for being a part of the first Live Discussion, and tune into Prodigy on Wrestling this SATURDAY for a special edition coverage of the DragonGateUSA PPV with a review and more! |

The WWE Development program. At first I thought wow this is really cool the WWE are doing this and while I still think it’s a great idea. It’s something that’s dawned on me that other wrestling companies should follow suit. I compare this to the “football/Soccer world” where the young professionals at the clubs go through the clubs own schooling. Whether it’s being taught the basic IT, English, Arithmetic or these skills the clubs and now the WWE are helping it’s youngsters develop. I’ve been fortunate enough to have two one-week trials with professional teams and seen this first hand and it’s great. It’s not only making the superstars do their job but makes them more open to the whole environment. When you’re a footballer you cant’ just train and play all the time like the WWE stars who wrestle and train, you have to do something worthwhile in the meantime and by them providing an education it will help them mentally but also if they incur a serious unforeseen injury that means they cant do their job anymore. I mean what employer is going to look at a CV and it read “pro footballer” or “wwe superstar” without anything to back it up and hire them? None. So yes it was a great move by the WWE. Now Rey Mysterio… This was probably one of the last guys I expected to fail a wellness test. I mean come on, just look at him. Then think of what happened with Eddie... What happened with "Chris...he who must not be named"... I'm shocked to say the least. However I’m going to have to disagree with your idea from a personnel perspective. You cannot get someone to replace Mysterio, pay him less, make the fans think it’s the same person (lie to them) and carry on doing it. It’s very un-ethical, something Vince would know a lot about but considering the Development program just started would rather seem strange to do something as positive as they were initiating and then doing a 180 on it in another matter. Finisher of the Week, Nice. It’s a bit like the initial stages of the Tiger Suplex combined with the Taka Michinoku Driver. Again? Oh well lol. Another good one though. Now the Kurt Angle stuff. Yes I will admit he is my wrestling hero. Which is why I may defend him more than others but I have always been proved right so far about him. When he was very suspiciously charged with a DUI (turned out to be false) right before Bound For Glory everyone was all over him. Then it happened again right before Hard Justice. So for the belt situation… It sounds too far fetched for me to believe it's true. Nothing needs to be said about the Jarrett/Angle situation. Everything will eventually be known at some point and most will probably be surprised when everything comes to the plate. Lets just say I think the “anonymous caller” that started this was in on something even bigger than anyone could imagine. The Carter/Lashley stuff now. I for one actually really enjoyed it from a fan’s perspective and also someone who actually gives two shits about the company. People question why I love TNA as much as I do but for me it’s a passion. Something WWE helped by becoming so retarded-ly shite over the past five years or so. Anyway while I thought 99 percent of the segment was great, I agree with you about the spoiler stuff. It was fucking stupid to let that one out. Most of us probably thought it would happen anyway but now we know Bobby Lashley will one day be TNA Champion and god forbid that be this year. Hernandez, AJ, Joe, DANIELS, Kaz (not Suicide), Matt Morgan and many others all deserve their fifteen minutes of fame at the top of TNA well before Lashley ever gets there. But yeah one final comment, this week's edition was fucking awesome. You shat all over last week's and I loved the interaction with AlecPure. I think it was a great chat/debate the two of you had and I can't wait for next week. |

It's tough for me to stay one sided, because Angle is my wrestling hero as well. Thanks for the comments on the show, and as soon as I get a request to do a LIVE AIM Discussion, I'll do one for next week. |

Has anybody every been seriously injured, hmm, good question. From all the matches I've seen, no, but I'm not positive on that one. The puro wrestlers, surprisingly are injured considerably less than American wrestlers. Although, I'm sure anytime Doi does it, there's definitely more than a 50% chance of not walking out of there lol. Thanks for the review, and tune in by phone or download/listen to the POW! show on Radio this Saturday (Number to be posted soon). |
