Any recommendations on Best of dvds? Is Jake's good? What about Roddy's? Does Mr. Perfect have one?

I have quite the DVD collection. I own a lot of PPVs I'd never seen before ( I did stop watching wrestling for a year or two, and never ordered PPVs much until last year anyway) and some great box sets too.

My favourite by far would be Rey Mysterio: Biggest Little Man. You'd be insane not to have that collection. Seriously, even if you're not a Rey fan. It recognises his rise to stardom, with matches ( you'll be glad to know they're the main focus of the 3 disc set) from Mexico all the way to WWE. The best part is most matches are from his days in WCW's infamous cruiserweight division. I always followed WWF instead of WCW back in the day and this here made me ashamed of doing so. The matches with Eddie, Liger, Psicosis, Jericho and most importantly of all, Malenko showcase why Rey is one of the greatest legends in wrestling history. It's cool that we get little vignettes for the WWE matches most of which had feuds leading into them and also brief segments after the matches with Rey giving his view on his opponent and the match itself, as you'd expect he's as down to earth and cool as ever. An absolute must have for all fans of wrestling.

I also liked Triple H: King of Kings a lot being a huge HHH mark, though there wasn't much of it hearing from the man himself was awe inspiring, seeing the early stages of his career unfold and the classic HIAC encounter with Batista stood out as highlights but it could have been much meatier, though it's about Triple H so they could have easily done about seven discs. Armageddon 2006 was a fantastic watch, with the amazing ladder match and the last ride match between Taker and Kennedy. One Night Stand 2005 was good solely because of the hilarious DVD exclusive commentary from JBL.

I got the Hell in a Cell DVD set recently and it's easy to recommend it as it's bursting to the seems with brutality. The epitome of intensity in DVD form with plenty of classics. I felt the ladder match DVD set was even better though, featuring a collection of matches next to nobody will have seen all of or at least recall all of fully. There's some great history, vignettes detailing the feuds going into the ladder matches then of course the ladder matches themselves, which succeed for a variety of reasons but amazingly are near all great even if you're watching them all in one pop. Awesome on three discs, this would be my second most recommended - you need this too!

Hopefully I'll get Viva La Raza! Eddie Guerrero and the History of the IC Championship DVD sets soon, they could very well be my new favourites by the looks of what is featured on them.

Also I'll plug this site for UK Wrestling DVD fans. Very reliable, that's all. http:www.silvervision.co.uk

Yup, Mr. Perfect has one its called The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect. I just ordered it yesterday from Silvervision infact.

All I know about the Starcade DVD is that its available in February no date specific date announced yet.

For close to two decades, it was the signature event – first in NWA, then WCW. Some of the greatest Superstars in wrestling history had defining moments at Starrcade. It may be gone, but fans of sports entertainment continue to celebrate its rich tradition and lasting legacy. Now, for the first time on DVD, the greatest matches of Starrcade are collected in a 3-disc set, along with a new and exclusive documentary exploring the 18-year history of the event, including comments from Ric Falir, Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA, Road Warrior Animal, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, David Crockett, and others. The featured matches, as voted by the WWE Universe, are counted down by some of the key players from the time.

Speaking of the edge one...I tried to ordered it online from this website but then my order was cancelled because they were already sold out. Then I went to like three different stores and they were all sold out there to. So I have to wait till next week to buy it.

Alright I'm going to write up a couple of brief thoughts:

The Eddie Guerrero DVD is fantastic. Lots of Great matches on and good commentary by his family and friends. I was hoping they had the RAW Tribute come with the one I bought, but it only comes with the little special edition dvd in the tin box. My favorite match on the dvd is his match against JBL where he took the most vicious chair shot I've ever seen and started to bleed buckets.

The Edge DVD could have been done quite better. It was good but there were still some flaws. At the beginning it kind of leads you on where it shows him and his mom talking about him and how he got into wrestling but after that it just has Edge in Kayfabe reflecting on his career while drinking soda and eating popcorn between the matches. One thing that I also hated was that the best 2 out of 3 tag matches with Mysterio against Benoit and Angle wern't shown, but it's understandable of course. My favorite match on the dvd is his hair vs hair match with Kurt Angle.

The on-again off-again "Macho Man" Randy Savage 'best of' DVD collection appears to be back on again. After WWE announced the project last year but later pulled it, WWE's Canadian DVD distributor (KOCH) is listing a 3-DVD Randy Savage WWE set titled "Macho Madness" for release on June 9th.

Thank fuck for for that tbh. Glad this is back on. I heard a rumor that he was backstage at Royal Rumble, and maybe that was true and they sorted this out. Also possible HOF if they are back on good terms :O
Rest in peace, fucker.
